Where were you born or from and how long have you been in the DFW area? Grew up in Florida, moved to Texas in 1981,I think. We did a short stint in Kentucky for 4 years.

Started work as a mechanics helper. A friend I skated with had already moved here got me the job.

What part of town do you currently live in? Plano

When you are not cycling, how do you earn your living? Work at Richardson Bike Mart now and do some coaching.

What is the best thing about your job? I get to promote bicycling.

How long have you been a member of the PBA? Not Sure

How did you get interested in cycling, group cycling, cycling with the PBA? Cycling was a part of my training for roller speed skating. I was already racing bikes when I would catch the group when it left from Plano Pkwy and 15th. That might say how long I’ve been around PBA.

Are you a member of any other bike clubs? Yes. Matrix ,and a few others.

How many rides and how many miles per year do you cycle? Last year was a little over 7000 miles and I ride at least 4 times a week.

Tell us two or three interesting things most people don’t know about you. Worked on a dairy farm every summer when I was a kid. Tried out for Ringling Brothers and Barnum Baileys Circus Clown College. I got picked to go, only 90 people a year get to go. Too bad I broke my leg in 3 places 2 weeks before they called!

Describe your first bike. First real bike was a 68 Schwinn Sting Ray. We have one hanging in RBM.

Do you participate in any other sports? Still skate some.

What is your favorite ride ever or best ever riding experience? One of my favorite rides is America’s Most Beautiful Bike ride in Lake Tahoe. One of my favorite races was the Twilight Crit in Athens Ga, and of course My Ride.

What is your most embarrassing cycling moment? Not sure.

If you could go on one more bike ride, what ride would it be? Would not matter, I’m on the bike.

What is your favorite book, movie, or play? Book: I liked the  Harry Potter books and a bunch of military history books. Movie: Band of Brother, ( not really a movie, great book too),  The Bourne series

If you have, or had, an iPod, what music would be in it? It would NOT have rap, new wave. Would have some Bag Pipes in there just to bother Don Fabian

What is your favorite food or cuisine? STEAK!

What other hobbies or interests are you involved in when not riding your bike? Right now I don’t have much time for anything else. If I get more time I would like to shoot my bow more and shoot up some ammo on a few of the weapons I have.

Do you have any pets? If so, describe.  Freckles the Beagle.

Do you have any kids? What are their ages and do they ride bikes? I have 2 girls, Lydia, 9 years and Heather, 5 years. Lydia can’t ride yet, but she loves the trail-a- bike and keeps eyeing my tandem. She   keeps asking if she’s big enough for that so we can go faster. Heather has a bike with training wheels. She is tired of being in the trailer.
