Since 2008, the PBA has donated bikes to kids in need and this year we expanded our donation to 52 bikes and two different Collin County organizations! For many of our members, PBA participation is just about going out and riding their bikes. But, for a group of others who equally love to ride their bikes, it is also about giving back to the Collin County community that supports us and has patience with us as we are out riding. It is about giving the next generation of cyclists a chance to ride at a young age and giving them the resources needed to see where cycling takes them. Cycling builds confidence and teamwork and provides these kids with skills they will use their entire lives. Through these efforts we are actually investing for the future in our community.

We could not have done it without the generosity of money, spirit, resources, and time from many of our members and a few special sponsors.

Thanks go to the many elves who helped assemble the bikes obtained through negotiation by our President, Terry Brcka.

Thanks to our club sponsors whose contributions made the purchase of these bikes possible.

Thanks to Richardson Bike Mart in Frisco who donated helmets for each of the 52 riders.

Thanks to Steve Standifer for his generous personal contribution of $1,500 that helped us increase our donation count.

Thanks to Rick and Lori Maucieri for donating space at Rick’s warehouse for the bike builds because we have now officially outgrown Terry’s garage.

And thanks to the two organizations who allowed us to receive the gift of sharing by giving these bikes to their kids: The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, and the Boys and Girls Club of Plano.
